Key Stage 3 Religious StudiesOur aim is to learn about, and from, the world’s main religions. In Year 7 we will study:
In Year 8 we will study:
In Year 9 we will study:
Our work will be accessible to students of all religions or no religion. We will enjoy our lessons, look forward to homework, produce amazing work and by the end of Key Stage 3, will discover how having a religious belief affects the way people live their lives and the world we live in. Key Stage 4 Religious EducationEvery student in Year 10 will have one lesson of Religious Studies a week, in a mixed ability group.
All students will be entered for the GCSE examination in Year 10.
There is no coursework.
Students whose grades are in the D to G range will re-study the Unit 2 topics and have an opportunity to retake the GCSE examination to gain a short course qualification. GCSE Religious Studies is a valuable qualification, especially useful to pupils considering a career in law, medicine, education, social work or management. The key to success depends upon the student’s approach to the subject - attitude is as important as ability. Students will need to show a willingness to learn, a desire to succeed and an awareness of the world around them. Above all, we will show in our lessons that we can learn from, as well as about, Religious Studies.
